The service

WHAT ARE STRUCTURAL REPAIRS?

Structural repair covers the load-bearing parts of a vehicle: rails, pillars, rocker reinforcements, and aprons. These components are engineered to crush in a specific way during a crash. Repairing them means following manufacturer procedures exactly, sectioning only where sectioning is allowed and replacing where it isn’t.

Structural work is required when a collision reaches past the outer panels. For example:

  • Damaged rails, pillars, or rocker reinforcements
  • Crumple zones that have collapsed as designed
  • Cracked or separated factory welds
  • Rust or damage at structural mounting points

How it works

OUR STRUCTURAL REPAIR PROCESS

01

Inspect and measure

We measure the structure against factory data to identify every damaged component and confirm what’s still within tolerance and what isn’t.

02

Follow the OEM procedure

Manufacturer repair information tells us where a component may be sectioned, where it has to be replaced outright, and which weld type is required.

03

Weld, fabricate, replace

Damaged sections are removed and new components welded in with our spot and MIG welders, to the same specification the factory used.

04

Re-measure and verify

The structure is measured again after the repair, then scanned and recalibrated as needed before the vehicle goes back together.

Why Waln for Structural Repair

Structural components are engineered to crush in a specific way during a crash. That means the manufacturer decides where a part can be sectioned and where it has to be replaced outright, not the shop.

We follow that procedure, weld to the specification the factory used, and measure the structure before and after so the result is verifiable rather than assumed.

Structural damage isn’t always visible from outside. If the impact was moderate or worse, have it looked at before you keep driving. Stop by Monday through Friday 8AM to 4PM, no appointment needed. If the structure needs measuring and pulling as well, we handle that in-house.

FAQs

What are structural auto body repairs?

Structural repairs address damage to your vehicle’s underlying framework, which affects safety, alignment, and crash protection.

Is it safe to drive with structural damage?

No. Unrepaired structural damage can compromise your vehicle’s safety in future collisions and may affect drivability.

How do you confirm a structural repair meets factory standards?

We measure the structure against manufacturer data before and after the repair using our Spanesi Touch 3D measuring system, and we follow the manufacturer’s repair procedure for where a component may be sectioned and where it has to be replaced outright. The vehicle is measured again after the work to confirm every reference point is back within tolerance.

How is a structural repair different from frame straightening?

Frame straightening measures and pulls the structure back into alignment. Structural repair covers the load-bearing components themselves, the rails, pillars, and reinforcements, which sometimes have to be sectioned or replaced rather than pulled. Many collisions need both.
